Introduction

Hello and Welcome. Thank you for taking the time to view our Website. My name is Paul Jones. I have been an LGV class 1 driver since July 1989.

My transport knowledge is rather broad given the amount of different vehicles I have driven over the years. Box trailers, curtainsiders, refrigerated, ADR. . . the list goes on. I have sat through and suffered many modules over time during a day of CPC training. I have done them online and in a classroom environment. Some are memorable but perhaps not for the right reasons.

In November of 2024 I took myself off to the RTITB training scheme in Telford to complete a long hard week of training to become a CPC instructor. This was all self funded. After nearly 36 years of driving I would like to pass on some of my knowledge and experience to those who maybe fresh to the haulage industry. Also provide and deliver modules to more senior drivers, a trip down memory lane and share experiences of yesteryear and their history, knowledge and experience. Something for everybody.

I have opted to do my module deliveries for CPC courses in a classroom environment rather than online. For me personally, online is convenient but it’s not interactive, far too many distractions, risk of losing the internet connection and less said about the instructor keep shouting “your on mute” the better. CPC courses are for learning, but also for enjoying the day, learning from others can be an advantage. It is only interesting if your involved. That’s one of my aims is to get everybody involved. Zoom is great for meetings for 30 mins, after that the boredom sets in.
